Although our mission is to provide jewellery you can wear every day and never take off please consider the following tips:

How to Care:

It is important for you to care for your jewellery as the care it took to produce it. Although solid gold jewellery may not tarnish or fade in color it can get scratched so be careful while wearing your everyday jewellery.

  • It is preferred to avoid showering with your gemstone jewellery, avoid spraying perfumes, or hand sanitiser, and apply creams over your gemstone jewellery. All gemstones are different and can react differently to different chemicals and even some natural ingredients all gemstones except diamonds should avoid contact with such. You can check out The Gem Bar to find out how tough your selected gemstone is.

  • Although swimming in the ocean with your solid gold jewellery may be okay it is known for your safety and the safety of the jewellery to avoid it. Sparkling objects in the sea are known to attract fish and other predators. Ocean water may be safe for your solid gold but could potentially erode any other gemstone except diamonds. Even tanning with your jewellery in intense heat can cause it to deform and should be avoided.

  • It is preferred to remove your larger jewellery and beaded jewellery before bed to avoid potentially bending the metal, snapping the cord, or breaking a stone in your sleep. While daintier solid gold jewellery also has the potential to get caught to be broken while sleeping it is less likely to occur. All vermeil jewellery should be removed before sleeping.

In conclusion, your jewellery is your treasure and should be treated with the utmost respect and care.

How to store jewellery:

Be careful when putting on your jewellery and should only be done in a secure space with less “risk” and should always be stored in the beautiful Elissar Jewels pouch provided or on a soft surface with the ability to breathe and should never be stored in an airtight container. Your jewellery has been made with love and should be handled with care.

About the gemstones:

All our authentic quality gemstones are locally sourced through the Indian gem markets and used to produce handcrafted jewellery, especially for you. It must be noted that all gemstones are unique and no two will be exactly the same this signifies quality and uniqueness. Be aware that each stone has its own delicacy and you should do your research about your gemstone. Many gemstones will be rated on the Mohs hardness scale and you should find out about your gemstones at our Gem Bar.

About the metals:

We offer 14k solid gold and 18k solid gold a Our solid 14k and 18k gold have a minimal to no risk of causing an allergic reaction, although we can not guarantee everyone will have the same experience. Those with sensitive ears should also opt for yellow gold as it contains the most amount of pure gold and is less likely to cause irritation. Elissar Jewels is not liable for any allergic reactions. Our jewellery is low maintenance but all nice things need care here are some tips on how to care for your Elissar Jewels.

14k and 18k solid gold jewellery:

All solid gold jewellery is for every day you so you can sleep in it, work out in it, shower in it, and even swim at the beach looking fabulous in your gems! Our best quality solid 18k gold is composed of 75% gold and 24% other metals. Solid 18k gold is hypoallergenic. The lowest percentage of gold recognised by many countries including America is 14k gold and it is composed of 58.3% gold and 41.7% other metals. All solid gold jewellery can be worn every day and it is a non-tarnish metal. It has a beautiful shine and can be made in yellow, rose, or white gold.

How to clean 14k and 18k solid gold jewellery:

This jewellery is very easy to clean and does not need much attention. You can soak your jewellery overnight in warm water with dish soap. Simply rinse in the morning and pat dry! Occasionally your jewellery should be polished to keep the shine.

925 sterling silver jewellery:

Silver that is worn every day normally maintains its shine and glimmer but sometimes tarnishes (don't panic, this is completely normal). Silver is a naturally precious metal and silver reacts to sulfur in the air causing the jewellery to tarnish. There are harmful chemicals in the air such as pollution that can cause silver to tarnish. This can also occur when working out in silver jewellery. This does not mean that your jewellery is any less valuable or of lower quality but in fact, it just proves the metal's authenticity.  We know you will never want to take off your items from Jaadoo Gems but unfortunately taking your silver jewellery to the beach can be harmful and can cause damage. This is due to the salt levels in the sea and the coarse sand which can be abrasive to your jewellery.

How to clean 925 sterling silver jewellery:

A simple cleaning method is to use lukewarm water, mild soap, and a soft-bristled toothbrush. When the tarnish is deeper just mix two parts of baking soda with one part of water to make a paste, then gently rub the mixture onto the jewellery (or simply use silver polish if you are not feeling particularly experimental). Allow the paste to dry and rinse then clean the piece of jewellery with a silver polishing cloth and the piece will return to its shining glory!

18ct Vermeil over silver jewellery:

Gold vermeil jewellery is 2.5 microns of 18ct gold electroplated over 92.5% pure sterling silver. Available in yellow, white, and rose gold vermeil. Those with sensitive ears and allergic to most metals should avoid Sterling Silver with Vermeil gold. This high-quality style of jewellery is made to last but constant rubbing will cause gold to wear off. Vermeil jewellery is still susceptible to tarnish and must still be treated with care. Keep away from moisture including creams and sanitiser. Keep jewellery as dry as possible. We only offer certain pieces in the vermeil option as we always wish to ensure quality.

How to clean 18ct vermeil jewellery:

Clean with a polishing cloth simply rub your piece of art in one direction to remove any dirt or dust. Make sure the jewellery is dry before storing.

Please note that when you receive your jewellery it is no longer our responsibility for its damage. We may only consider defective jewellery as a case-by-case matter.
